We can all have an impact on the environment. small changes can make a big difference!
Gardening for wildlife
Why have bare walls and fences? Green up your space, provide food and water, wildlife will come!
In order to achieve a healthy balance a biodiverse environment is required and any creature big or small plays an important role. Ditch your lawn in favour of wild plants, have some winter flowering plants, pollinators will love you!
Gardening for water conservation
Water is becoming increasingly a precious resource. Harvesting rainwater has to be one of the top 3 ways of preserving tap water. Choosing plants that require little water eases the demand on tap usage, substituting lawn for wild plants and mulch are my top tips.
No dig gardening
This is an avenue worth exploring especially for vegetable growing and it can be achieved even in a small space. No dig gardening uses a growing medium that is rich in microbes and nutrients, has the capacity to retain moisture and as the name suggests no digging!
gardening with weeds
What is a weed? It is a plant in the wrong place. If you cannot beat them join them!
